First Kiss Clapping

This couple, Kathryn and Steve, are currently living in San Francisco, but came back to Vermont to get married at Killington Mountain Resort in Killington, Vermont. The bride’s grandfather was one of the people responsible for founding Killington Mountain. He cut some of the first ski trails on the mountain and started developing it for commercial use.

It was really important to the couple that the ceremony be held at the top of the mountain, despite its tendency toward really bad weather. They ended up being really lucky with the weather. It started raining the second the ceremony ended. The color of the bridesmaids’ dresses perfectly complemented the cloudy weather and mountainous backdrop that Vermont summers are known for.

This kind of weather can be really beautiful for photos, which is evident in this shot of the ceremony backed by the mountains. When it ends up being cloudy like this, the lighting is really even on everyone’s faces and no one is squinting in the sun.

After this photo was taken, the bride and groom recessed down the aisle while their friends and families popped confetti poppers, that the bride had found on Etsy, at the couple in the aisle. This was a really fun moment that the guests really enjoyed as a unique way for them to be an active part of the ceremony.
