Often described as the “quintessential getaway” of Vermont, Manchester is a town which, without fail, attracts thousands and thousands of people every year. And with good reason, since it has way too many beautiful places to visit and fun things to do for anyone to skip this town on their way to Vermont. Whether you are into hiking or biking, or someone who likes to spend their days ideally roaming about out of one store and into another, Manchester has plenty to keep you busy.

Start off your day by visiting the spectacular Robert Todd Lincoln House, otherwise popularly known as “Hildene, The Lincoln Family House” and immerse yourself in some history 101. This place is a treat for all history lovers. The staff around the place is extremely hospitable, and not just that, but very knowledgeable too. They are always willing to answer any questions that you may be having. Given the time it has been around, the place is exceptionally well maintained; the gardens, grounds, and the mansion everything is in excellent condition. Given the vastness of the area, there is also a trolley service which visitors can avail and tour around the mansion conveniently.

All of Vermont’s towns have one thing in common: they all offer spectacular views and scenery. And if you feel like spending an hour or two (or more) out in nature, head straight over to the Equinox Preservation Trust. The views are gorgeous! Plenty of trails are available for you to embark upon. Other than picnic tables that have been set up for people who are in the mood to have a little family time in the open, the place also has restrooms for those visitors who plan on staying at the Equinox.
Interested in having a shopping experience, but with a twist? Manchester Designer Outlets will give you exactly that kind of experience. From a distance the place looks like a dozen or so private homes have lined up one place, it is when you visit these “private homes” you realize that they are high end designer stores! From the likes of Ralph Lauren to Orvis, the shopaholic in you will be in for a great treat. And if all that shopping around gets you hungry, you are in luck because there are plenty of decent places to have a bite at, as well.
Southern Vermont Arts Center is another favorite place in Manchester, Vermont. Beautiful gardens sculptures to look at, scenic trails to embark on, fantastic art by the local artists to admire, the center also offers art classes! Amongst these classes, the painting workshops are the most attended. The teachers are wonderful and so talented that you will soon learn just why people from far and wide drive down to Manchester just to attend these classes.

As you can tell, there is a lot to do when you are in Manchester, Vermont. If attending someone’s wedding is one of the reasons why you are in this city which has you surfing the web for some a great Vermont wedding photographers, then check out my wedding portfolio as it might interest you.
