Newport Vermont Wedding Photographer

Although a native Vermonter, I lived by the ocean for a good chunk of my life, and something that always warmly reminds me of those times are the vibrant lake communities that exist throughout Vermont. Newport is one of those and is also the second largest populated city in Vermont, second only to Burlington. Newport is stationed at the southern end of Lake Memphremagog and has the Clyde, Barton, and Black Rivers running through it. The community in Newport offers a little bit of everything from outdoor fun to lakeside relaxation to an incredible array of dining options. There are amazing outdoor adventure opportunities at the nearby Jay Peak Resort, out on Lake Memphremagog, and on the nearby rivers. Have you ever thought of having your wedding in the middle of a lake? You can rent out The Northern Star cruise ship and have a stunning ceremony afloat on the waves of Memphremagog. Many of the city’s most premier hotels are also lake side, including Cliff Haven Bed & Breakfast, Little Gnesta B&B, and Water’s Edge Bed & Breakfast. Newport’s town center is also a bustling hub (at least for Vermont!). For the artistically inclined, I highly recommend a visit to MAC Center for the Arts where there is a diverse array of local art of varying modalities on display and for sale. Largely focalized in the town’s center and along the water are many of Newport’s best restaurants. Newport actually has a city-wide initiative called “Fresh By Nature” which is aimed at connecting local consumers, growers, and makers. Some of my favorite spots include: Dusit Thai Cuisine, Tim & Doug’s Ice Cream, Le Belvedore, Ciderhouse, Newport Natural Market and Café, and The Brown Cow Restaurant. If you find yourself in the Newport area and are searching for a wedding, event, or portrait photographer please review my website and reach out. I would love to hear from you!

Verdant and serene are perhaps two best words that can be used to describe Newport, Vermont. Whether you like to fish or swim, hike or mountain bike, Newport has something for everyone. Bonus points if you visit this town during the fall season! The charming town is breathtaking all year round but somehow manages to look ever better during fall. Newport is a Vermont photographers dream! There are many beautiful places to photograph.  If you are engaged, Newport is a gorgeous place for wedding photography! Here are a few things that you must do to get the most of your Newport, Vermont trip.
Lake Memphremagog is where you should kick start your visit. This lake is perfect for swimming and kayaking alike. The water and scenery around it are just exceptional. It is not as big as some of the other lakes in Vermont, but still, it is not bad if you want to go for a dip or just rent a boat. The Northern Star also offers a cruise on Lake Memphremagog, which can be a fun family activity. On the cruise, you have private guides who tell you about the industrial development and smuggling history of Newport.
If you like to fish or want to teach your kids how to fish, you will love  NEK Bass Fishing Charters. This fishing charter is known to have excellent guides on board who can teach you how to fish. A fun group that makes for great company. You will not know where the hours go.  Again, don't forget your camera! The picture taking opportunities are endless.
One of the best things about Vermont and its towns has got to be the endless opportunities they provide for you to get acquainted with nature. Newport Bike Bath is an excellent place where you can take a walk or ride a bike with the kids. If you do not have your bike, you can rent one at a nearby store. Whether you are walking or biking, the picturesque scenery around makes both activities equally enjoyable. Just remember to wear proper shoes.
If you are an arts and crafts lover, the MAC Center for the Arts should be the next place on your list. From paintings to jewelry, you will find all sorts of unique art pieces on display. You can buy original art pieces as well. More than a dozen local artists put their best work on display for sale. You might just find some souvenirs to take back home with you.
Newport, Vermont has lots to offer for the entire family. If you are visiting this town of Vermont to attend an event or even a wedding and are looking for a great Vermont photographer please check out my wedding work
