I love this photo. It is beautiful in both black and white and in color. We were so lucky to have such a beautiful day at The Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, Vermont. It is an amazing place for both wedding and engagement sessions, The lake was completely glass. The only ripples in the water were made by the canoe. The canoe was a bit unstable, so we had the bride and groom sit very still and just put their heads together and breathe. It was a lovely moment.
I was on the beach with a 70-200 lens. My goal was to capture the gorgeous scenery, but also make sure that the photos are focused on the couple because they are the reason for the whole portrait session and their love is paramount to the photos. It is very important to me to make images that are personal. That are timeless and reflect the true nature of the couples relationship. Shots that involve the couple on or near water are always awesome because they really play into the double meaning of the word "reflection." This photo, like many other shots I've taken on top of Lake Champlain or on smaller, more private bodies of water reflects the couple's love twice. This shot is an example of what I get to do every day as a wedding photographer and makes me feel truly lucky that my clients make it possible for me to do my dream job.
