Shelburne, Vermont Engagement Session | Brandon & Natalie

Vermont Engagement Session

I met up with Brandon and Natalie for an engagement session on October 23rd at the Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, Vermont, and I absolutely loved getting to see these two celebrate such an exciting time in their lives.

I’ve known Brandon for about 30 years, ever since we were 13. We graduated high school together and then went to an alpine ski racing academy called Green Mountain Valley School in Waitsfield, Vermont. So, this whole session made me smile, especially because my husband, David, was there to assist me. He also went to school with Brandon, so it was like a mini-reunion.

Brandon and Natalie met one snowy day in Chile atop a peak in the Andes. They found themselves side by side on a T-bar sizing each other up to see how amazing the other was as a skier. They spent the next 8 years chasing each other around the country and the globe—from South America to France to Vermont and so many places in between. Finally, they decided to take a little time from their crazy adventures together to get their friends and family in one place to celebrate their marriage.

On the day of the session, Brandon and Natalie wanted to use an antique car for some of their pictures. It was the perfect prop, and the pictures we got in and around the car are my favorite, but it was no picnic getting the car to Shelburne Farms in the first place. Natalie’s mother had only recently purchased the antique Ford truck, and it took a few tries to get it started, but luck was on our side, and we made it there with the car all the same!

While the two of them were a little uncomfortable at first taking pictures, understandably so, they soon relaxed, and we ended up having a great time! We spent a few hours after the session at Natalie’s house, getting all caught up on each other’s lives.

Natalie & Brandon, thank you so much for letting me be part of your engagement session! I’m so excited for your upcoming wedding at the Trapp Family Lodge in September. It will be so much fun, and I can’t wait to see our friends from our ski racing days there!
