I met up with Megan and Joseph for an engagement session in downtown Woodstock, Vermont, on April 2nd, and I loved getting to know these two!
Megan and Joseph were introduced on Match before they met for the first time at a bar on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. That first date went so well that it was hours before they remembered to order food! They eventually ordered fried pickles, and a love story was born.
Originally, we were supposed to meet up on April Fools’ Day, but we had to push the session back because of a snowstorm that dumped two feet of snow on us! But April still played a prank on us during the session when we were almost crushed by an avalanche. No worries—we all got out okay!
I loved that Megan and Joseph brought their dog, Ziggy, with them to their session. I adore working with dogs during wedding and engagement sessions because dogs are such a HUGE part of a couple’s life together. For many, this is their “first baby,” the first thing that they take care of together, so it’s incredibly meaningful to have their “fur baby” there. And Ziggy, in particular, was very well-behaved, so I loved seeing the adorable “proud parents’ as Ziggy sat and posed perfectly for the camera.
The location for this session was also a total photographer’s dream. Woodstock is a beautiful Vermont town—well-taken care of, with architecturally interesting buildings that perfectly capture Old Vermont. We were able to wander through the town and found tons of great locations to shoot. On top of that, it was a BEAUTIFUL day with that new blanket of snow and perfect, 50-degree weather!
Joseph & Megan, thank you for a fun, exciting photo shoot! I can’t wait for your wedding in October at Stratton Mountain Resort.
