One of the things I enjoy the most about living and working in Vermont as a Wedding Photographer is the genuine care that people take and give towards each other, the land, and themselves. Moretown is a really cool example of that ideal of care. It is a quiet, little nook of a town tucked away in the foothills of the Green Mountains of Central Vermont.
Here it is home to only one, yes one, commercial store: The Moretown General Store, which offers a gas station, convenience store, and deli. The Moretown General Store is a meeting place, where if you take the time to people-watch you will be highly rewarded. I’ve seen neighbors catching up on each other’s lives, last minute grocery runs completed for children’s bake sales, and a familiarity between the staff and customers that really can only be found in small towns. Maynard’s Snack Shack is another place in which the Moretown community comes together. On a warm, Summer evening it is not surprising to run into teachers, family, friends, and neighbors at the Snack Shack, enjoying a meal outside together.
Surprisingly, one of the most unique vacation rentals I have ever seen is located in Moretown: Lily’s Brookside Tree House. The luxury tree house is owned and run by Lily and Harley, a super sweet couple, and is an amazing place to escape to for a couple’s getaway! It is also possible to rent out the White Birch Cottage and Three Covered Bridge Guest House & Retreat for a weekend, vacation, or event. Moretown is also home to the Vermont Icelandic Horse Farm, which offers treks of varying lengths for all skill levels. Within a short drive of Moretown are Juniper’s Fare and Lake Champlain Cuisine (two yummy restaurants) and awesome hikes like the Vermont classic, Camel’s Hump, and Moss Glen Falls. If you are planning an event or wedding, please feel free to reach out. I am happy to provide my photography services, knowledge of the area, and a genuine Vermont care to make your celebrations all that they can be
