Sean and Lucy began their relationship in a classroom at Dartmouth. Thus, when it was time to find the perfect location for their Vermont wedding they decided upon the Quechee Club in Quechee Vermont. Quechee, which is just a few miles away from campus and provided the ideal setting for their friends and family to gather. This couple is brilliant, fun and beautiful. David and I had so much fun shooting their engagement photos all around Dartmouth (link) and we were honored to be their Vermont wedding photographer on their big day.
Lucy is simply stunning. While she was getting ready for the day, I was completely wrapped up in her beauty. She is an absolute dream to photograph. We decided to do the first look at the bridge in Quechee and it provided a unique location for a dramatic moment. From there we had plenty of time to take portraits all around Quechee. One of my favorite locations was the merry-go-round that seemed to pop up out of nowhere. It was so fun to find this opportunity in a quaint little Vermont town. Surprising perhaps, but super cool. We ended our portrait session around the lake where the ceremony would happen. Quechee has the perfect blend of hills, meadows, water and fun. I would highly recommend the Quechee Club for a Vermont wedding.
The ceremony on the lake was just perfect. Family and friends witnessed the classic ceremony. Following their vows, the couple took a golf cart back to the Club for the reception. This proved to be another fun photo opportunity and a unique getaway for the newlyweds. The cocktail hour location overlooked the Quechee golf course and the newly renovated Quechee Club pool. The reception was just inside and perfectly decorated. Following some touching toasts and tasty dinner, the couple led their friends and family with some intense dancing.
Lucy and Sean, thank you so much for allowing us to be your Vermont wedding photographer. We loved spending time with you and wish you nothing but the best in your future. Thank you for this incredible experience.
Unique detail to consider: This couple choose to give their guests a small cactus as a gift. I know that I can keep a cactus alive and therefore I am confident that their guests will as well. It will always remind the guests of the couple and their day.
Favorite photography moment: This has to be the merry-go-around. It is not often that I get to photograph a bride in this location as a Vermont wedding photographer. So much fun!
Here is a recent review from the Wedding Wire Website.
My wedding at The Quechee Club was beautiful! Our ceremony took place outside of Murphy Farm on Lake Pinneo, and our reception was held in the main dining room at the club. Michelle Dougherty and Deborah Colt are very sweet and hard working! In the couple weeks leading up to our special day Michelle was very attentive and available. Compared to other venues in the area we had looked at, the Quchee Club's prices were very good. The food has always been excellent every time we have dined there, and our wedding was no exception. Our guests were raving about the location and how beautiful it was. The Quechee Club is a hidden gem!
