Fallen Leaf Lake Destination Wedding | Courtney and Clark

Courtney and Clark were married on a beautiful summer day, with a ceremony at Mountains Episcopal Chapel on Fallen Leaf Lake and a reception at the Crosswinds Estate on Fallen Leaf Lake.

I love photographing destination weddings. Including traveling to destinations outside of Vermont or a couple coming to Vermont for their destination wedding—because the venues are always stunning and have some special meaning for the couple. For Courtney and Clark, who live in San Francisco now, Fallen Leaf Lake held treasured memories, which just made it that much more amazing to have the wedding there!

David and I truly enjoyed ourselves at this wedding, and we couldn’t have asked for a better setting. The weather was gorgeous, and the estate had a beautiful view, with room for all the guests to eat, drink, and party—with activities for everyone even outside of the wedding and great locations for pictures throughout the venue.

That’s the good thing about working as a photographer in Vermont: there are so many similar locations perfect for weddings like this. The Mountain Top Inn and Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont, for example, have similar beautiful scenery, lodging for all, off-season activities, and so on!

The small, intimate church was also simply stunning, and I loved traveling by boat between the ceremony location and the reception. I was in a separate boat so that I could get a wide shot of them as we headed to the reception, and I loved it!

The reception itself was an absolute blast. Courtney and Clark made sure that their guests had as much fun as they were having—with games including corn hole for everyone to play as well as It’s It Ice Cream Sandwiches from San Francisco, a treat that they had enjoyed when they were younger.

Clark handmade the BEST DAY EVER sign that I photographed Courtney in front of, and it truly set the tone for the day. We stayed for hours after the wedding to enjoy the after party!

Courtney & Clark, thank you for letting us be part of your “best day ever”! We loved working with you both!
