Jessica and Paul’s dogs, Shammy and Chevy, are hugely important to them, so naturally the two dogs were a part of their wedding party. The pair of bull-mastiffs was included in every aspect of the wedding, from getting ready before the ceremony to having their portraits taken afterward. They were incredibly well behaved and were not any more difficult to work with than the average flower girl or ring bearer (that is to say, they were a delight and integral part of the ceremony).
The bridesmaids’ dresses were a nice, pale color that really complemented the natural green of the scenery (as well as Shammy’s fur). This is an important thing to consider, especially for a spring or summer wedding in Vermont. The grass tends to be a vibrant green and if the ceremony or reception is held outdoors—which it often is for a warm weather wedding—it is important that the outfits of the wedding party and outdoor decorations don’t clash with the greenery.
Shammy made a beautiful flower girl and her brother, Chevy, was a dashing ring bearer. Shammy wore a wreath of flowers to signify her important role in her humans’ wedding. The white flowers on the wreath match the bouquets that the bridesmaids carried, and like them, Shammy flashed wonderful smiles for all of the photos.
